Tips for Buying an Epson Inkjet Printer

Posted in: Shopping Tips |

Epson offer a wide variety of inkjet printers all of which are designed to specialise in a certain field. There are three for main types of Epson inkjet printers: entry level, multi function, mid range and photo quality.

Before purchasing an Epson printer it is important to think about your needs and requirements. There’s no sense in buying an all-in-one multi function printer if you’re just going to be printing letters etc. The same applies if you want the printer to print high quality photos. Although an entry level Epson printer is capable of printing photos it will not produce the quality equal to that from a specialist photo printer.

Another important factor to consider is the running costs; Epson printers more often than not follow the pattern of; the more expensive the printer is, the more expensive the Epson ink cartridges. This is usually down to the fact that high end photo printers require more colour cartridges in order to produce the wide colour range necessary to process high quality photo prints. The Epson Stylus R360 ink cartridges for example consist of six separate cartridges and the top of the range photo printers can take up to eight separate inks. The cost of the printer ink is probably the most important thing to consider after printer functionality.
